Press office, web and print design, content creation and social media marketing… Since the beginning of the year Tertulia Andaluza has launched a series of services and has been using them to positive effect with the RMR. It all began with the launch of Eustory, a history competition for young people, swiftly followed by the Semana de la Música de Ronda and finally a campaign to promote the 225th Anniversary of the bullring in Ronda.

One of the most creative aspects of our work with the RMR has been the launching of Plaza In Focus, a photography competition that will run from the 15th July until the 15th December 2010. The competition will award the best images taken of the bullring, the exhibition rooms and manège and subsequently uploaded to the RMR Flickr group.

The idea came about during the Communicating the Museum conference in Malaga when Elyse Topalian from the Metroplitan Museum in New York (MET) presented some of the projects they were launching in the Big Apple. With her support and advice we have put together this competition taking into account any pitfalls she warned us against.

Creating a campaign is a complex procedure that involves various facets: from the design of a website to bring all the cultural activities at the RMR under one roof (culturarmr.com), the creation of profiles in social networks (Facebook, Twitter, MySpace…) or even the design and printing of posters and other printed material. In the process we’ve involved our team of designers and enlisted the help of Vanesa Zafra who has designed the poster and postcards to promote the competition throughout Malaga. We wanted to bring a fresh and young look to the campaign to invite visitors to experiment with their creativity and share their ways of seeing the monument in 2010. We hope you’ll be taking part!
