Tertulia in the CAC II
Lope Martínez Alario arrived a little late, but it was worth the wait. A painter born in Malaga city, but now living in Alcaucín, he has a Hemingway air about him. “I would have loved to live in the Hippy era. But by the time I came along it was too late”, he admits. With over 120 exhibits and several prizes to date, Lope spoke about his painting techniques and artistic tastes in a conversation that indicated a deep love and understanding of art history. A man who is born again each day in front of a blank canvas. We took the opportunity to visit the current exhibitions in the CAC Malaga with him: Ilya y Emilia Kabakov: Bajo la nieve and Rirkrit Tiravanija: A long march. In celebration of the arrival of spring we conclude our second Tertulia in the CAC with these two artists from two very different generations. If you are an artist and want to take part in our next Tertulia in the CAC, contact us. Remember, we are available to meet artists once a month. |
