Review: Reserva 1925 by Cervezas Alhambra

Imagine that your first taste of this beer took place in Granada, sitting in the shadow of the Alhambra. It was the end of spring and the soft sound of flamenco was all around. Were it not for the setting, what would one make of the Reserva 1925? We return to the tastebuds and nose of our favourite critic to give us his outside opinion.

The Reserva 1925 has been proclaimed by some people as Spain’s single greatest beer. Personally I’d rate the Mezquita above it, but this is definitely a lot more complex and less gassy, with some attractive hazelnut flavours mirrored by a praline-like texture when it is in your mouth. Good stuff.
